The first and most important thing about our student rooms for couples is that we offer free dual occupancy, unlike many other housing providers who charge extra for sharing. Both students are listed as main tenants on the contract, splitting the rent equally to make quality student homes more affordable for student couples.
Finding student housing for couples in Southampton, Winchester and Guildford can be difficult when one of you are a student and one of you is a non student. While our accommodation is built with students in mind, non students are welcome to live in our studios as long as their partner is enrolled as a full time student.

Choosing your first home together is an exciting step. Our Luxury, Luxury Plus, and VIP studios are thoughtfully designed for two, offering the perfect balance of comfort and space. We offer three fantastic city locations, Southampton, Winchester and Guildford. With different views and floors available, you can select a studio that best suits your lifestyle as a couple, whether you prefer city views, quieter spaces, or being close to the communal areas.
Booking your studio as a couple is simple with our easy online booking system. Just select ‘Book Now’ on your preferred studio type, and the first tenant will enter their details, along with the name and email of the second tenant. The first student will continue with the booking process, whilst the second tenant will receive the contract via email, allowing you to both sign online. You will each be required to make a £150 deposit payment to secure your studio. You will both receive a separate deposit protection certificate from MyDeposits via email within 30 days.
We offer four flexible payment plans: one, two, three, or eleven instalments. Each tenant must select their preferred plan, and if choosing three or eleven, a UK guarantor is required. For couples sharing a studio, we recommend having separate guarantors so we can deal with your preferred contact if you fall into rent arrears. If you require a Guarantor, you can speak with Housing Hand.
After signing and paying your deposit, the property manager will co-sign the contract within 1-2 working days, and you will both receive a copy of your tenancy agreement and deposit protection certificate via email. Once your contract is completed, the final step is to make your £500 advance rent payment (£250 each) to secure your studio. This payment is deducted from your overall rent.

Couple living is also extremely affordable with Unilife allowing you to just divide the amount by two!
Your space your way also allows you to decide how long you want your contract for, ranging from 45 to 51 weeks. So you can tailor your contract for exactly how long you need it for. Unilife offers plenty of different ways to help meet new people as many of our tenants are international students, who face the extremely daunting task of moving to a new country not knowing anyone. As a result, we hold numerous free social events throughout the year such as: welcome evenings (with food and live music!), Christmas meals and even pizza and games nights! These events always prove to be very enjoyable with both students and staff and are a fantastic way to get to know your neighbours.
In all of our student housing, we have community hubs complete with pool tables, big screens and games consoles. Privacy isn’t a trade-off for space at Unilife! All our studios, which are designed for shared student accommodation, come complete with two desks, adequate wardrobe space, a good size bathroom and a comfy double bed. This ensures that both residents can get on with all the daily requirements of being a student, be that studying, relaxing or enjoying themselves! Many of our residents choose to renew with us and stay the duration of their studies (check out some of our testimonials), so it is vital there is enough room for all their belongings. So no need for arguments over wardrobe space!
Finding a student room for two people can be a real challenge. There’s nothing worse than being a couple and finding it impossible to find some privacy in your own home. Shared houses are exactly what they say they are… shared! So this can make it very hard to spend time relaxing just the two of you. A studio, or twin room, from Unilife, gets rid of this problem entirely; the layout is fully self-contained from the kitchen to the bathroom and everything inbetween. So your space, is your space! No interruptions, no compromise.
Each tenant choosing a 3 or 11 instalment plan will require a UK guarantor. We advise couples to have separate guarantors for easier rent management. If you do not have one, we partner with Housing Hand who will act as your guarantor.

If one tenant needs to leave, the remaining tenant can stay in the studio, however both students will remain liable for the rent. Please contact your property manager here for advice.
The weekly rent includes your own personalised studio with unlimited utilities (water, electricity, heating), high speed Wi-Fi and TV License. You will both also have access to our Unilife perks such as free breakfast, unlimited hot drinks, free printing, health assured membership, and of course, 24/7 access to our communal rooms. This includes our community hub, games room, study rooms, social kitchens and state of the art gym.
