Mother’s Day 2020

Created by Andrew, Vicky |

In spring, when the days are brighter and longer, there is a celebrated special day – Mother's Day. On this day, we celebrate our mothers and often grandmothers for all they are and all they do.

A Special Day

This year Mothers Day is on Sunday the 22nd of March. The date of Mother's Day differs each year as it always falls on the 4th Sunday in Lent and three weeks before Easter, and so the traditional title 'Mothering Sunday.'

On Mother's Day, we show appreciation for mother's in a matter of ways; creating home-made gifts, choosing colourful bouquets, and the one of most value to mother's – spending precious time with them is often the simplest ways to show appreciation are the most effective.

Sunday is Mother's Day in the UK, but with cases soaring in the country and the situation in the UK just "two or three" weeks behind Italy's, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has insisted people stay home. -CNN

Today may be a different and difficult day for those who would usually plan to spend time with their mothers, as we adapt to the necessary changes and disruption to our normal routine and regular patterns of life, -The official Twitter of the Queen and the Royal Family

If you are unable to see and spend time with your mother in person, sending a personal greeting card or speaking on the phone can be just as special and valuable. While living with Unilife, the excellent Wi-Fi ensures those special moments, whether it be a quick catch up via FaceTime or longer phone call remain uninterrupted. We often have the opportunity to meet the beautiful mothers of our students when they visit their son & daughters during a long weekend, and a pick up ready for Christmas or when dropping off at the start of September. We love to meet the mums (and family!) and have a chat on the comfy sofa over a coffee.

However you choose to celebrate Mother's Day, we hope all of you enjoy the day and the moments that matter

We would love to see how you are celebrating with your mother's and loved ones this Mother's Day so be sure to mention @Unilifestudent or #ultimatestudentliving in all of your social media tribute posts
