Meet Alex, The Sales Manager for Unilife.
I have at least one viewing booked in a day which is fantastic as I get to engage with students. I love introducing students to Unilife and finding out more about their requirements for accommodation.
What is my current role?
I am Unilife’s Sales Manager
What does a typical day look like?
We are fortunate at Unilife to have student accommodation in three fantastic locations. Southampton, Winchester and Guildford. My working hours are split between all three sites, so I have the pleasure of spending time with all our students.
At Unilife, we are very passionate about providing the best student experience in each location we operate in. To ensure we achieve our high standards consistently, I work very closely with the house managers, operational manager and marketing team daily.
Throughout the day, I ensure that all enquires we receive are responded to efficiently. It is imperative for me that students, parents and agents have a response as soon as possible. (No one likes waiting around for a response to their email!). This keeps me busy throughout the day as our conversations come from multiple channels such as emails, telephone, social media and live chat. Have a question about Unilife? Get in touch here!

I love introducing students to Unilife and finding out more about their requirements for accommodation. We are very flexible and conduct viewings in person or online via FaceTime or WhatsApp. We also have a presence at University Open days to showcase our accommodation to prospective students. Managing across three cities gives me the opportunity to meet plenty of students and parents. Open days are always very busy for us so expect to meet the whole team and our fabulous student ambassadors if you are visiting us soon!
Favourite moment at Unilife
The RESI awards 2022. Unilife was shortlisted for ‘Student Operator of the Year’ at the RESI awards 2022. The awards night was hosted at Grosvenor House in London and we had a great evening celebrating a successful year at Unilife.
We were shortlisted against some huge players in the student accommodation industry, so we took huge pride in being nominated. We are continuously looking at ways to innovate and enhance our service to students to go one step further and win the award next year!
What do I do outside of Unilife?
My main two hobbies are running and football.
I run for Fareham Running Club. I have always had an interest in running since I was young. Maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle is very important to me. My favourite distance is 5K and I enjoy being the frontrunner!
I also love watching Football live. My perfect Saturday would be soccer AM, early kick off, Soccer Saturday and then the late kick off! I support Stevenage who are currently in League Two. I regularly travel to watch the games home and away.
What superpower would I have and why?
If I could have a superpower, I think it would be super speed due to my love for running. Having enhanced speed would be very beneficial as I could run longer distances very quickly and not have to rely on driving every day. 10 miles to work? No problem, I’ll be there in one minute!
